  • To the appointment: Loose fitting dark clothes. Please remove all jewelry and makeup prior to your service, and please do not apply lotion, oil, deodorant or perfume on the day of your tan for the best results.

During the tan: Bra/underwear, swimwear, or nude. Whatever you are most comfortable with.

  • Absolutely NO soap.

A really slow rinse with luke-warm water is best. Only use your hands to remove the bronzer, and focus your attention to your legs, behind your arms, etc.

The #1 cause for streaks is that the bronzer was not rinsed off properly and can stain the skin for a few days.

  • To maintain your tan:

    • -Moisturize twice daily to keep your skin hydrated

    • Avoid long hot showers, chlorine pools, or saunas

    • Use gentle, sulfate-free body washes

What Spray tan solution do you use?

We use Dolce Glow, a luxury, skin-first spray tan solution trusted by celebrities like Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, the Kardashian-Jenners, and Jennifer Lopez. Its clean, hydrating formulas deliver a natural, golden bronze without any orange tones, while nourishing your skin with ingredients like hyaluronic acid, vitamin E, and botanical oils. With Dolce Glow, you get a flawless, radiant tan that’s as luxurious as it is safe.

How quick is the spray tan process?

Mobile spray tan appointments last approximately 35 minutes including set up and breakdown of equipment. This includes the consultation, tan application, and time to dress. The tanning process itself only takes 10 minutes.

How far in advance should I book my tan before an event?

The best time to get spray tanned before any event is 2-3 days prior.

How long does a spray tan last?

Spray tans typically last from 4 to 7 days. The duration of your tan relies on factors like your skin type, activity level, daily routine, and the care you provide for your spray tan. Your spray artist can review your lifestyle with you to help you make personalized choices that keep your tan looking fresh for as long as possible. Similar to a natural suntan, a sunless tan slowly fades as your skin cells naturally exfoliate. Want a long-lasting glow? Regularly scheduled follow-up tans will get you there.

How do I know what tan “color” to choose?

At Tan Luxe, we are trained in color matching and will help you decide on the best solution and/or tone for you the day of your spray tan appointment.

Will I look orange after my Tan?

No, you will not appear orange with a Tan Luxe spray tan. Tan science has come a long way in the last decade — this is not an old-school spray tan. Tan Luxe is a luxury service that truly delivers on its name. We use only the highest quality solution by Dolce Glow and guarantee you’ll achieve a natural, beautiful bronze without any orange tones.

Will spray tanning stain my bed sheets or clothes?

Yes, its possible within the first few days that cosmetic bronzer may minimally rub off on your clothes etc. But, most cosmetic bronzer does rinse off easily.

Can I shower or swim after my spray tan?

Yes, but only after the recommended development time. Chlorinated pools, hot tubs, and long baths may cause your tan to fade faster.

When should i schedule other beauty services?

For the best results, we recommend completing all other beauty services—such as waxing, exfoliating, shaving, facials, hair coloring, or getting your nails done—before your spray tan appointment. This ensures your tan applies evenly and lasts longer. If you need to get a beauty service after your tan, wait at least 24–48 hours to avoid disrupting the color. Always moisturize and follow aftercare instructions to maintain your flawless glow.

Special Considerations for Your Glow

Tattoos

Spray tanning is safe for tattoos as long as the area is completely healed. Fresh or healing tattoos should be fully recovered before your appointment to protect both your skin and your ink.

Pregnancy

DHA is FDA approved and only penetrates the outermost layer of the skin. There is no evidence that DHA is harmful. However, we do recommend that you consult with your physician first.

Skin Conditions

In most cases, you can still enjoy a spray tan if you have a skin condition; however, we recommend consulting your doctor first. A waiver will need to be signed prior to your appointment to ensure you understand how the solution may interact with your skin.

Surgery

Spray tanning should only be done once you are completely healed. You should never tan over healing or open wounds, as this can interfere with recovery and compromise your results.

Sensitive Skin

While most people do well with Dolce Glow’s clean, skin-first formulas—we understand that everyone’s skin is unique. If you have sensitivities or allergies, we recommend booking a quick patch test before your full spray tan appointment.

Teens

Spray tanning is a safe, sunless alternative for teens who want to glow without harmful UV exposure. Our solutions are gentle on the skin, and appointments for minors can be booked with parental consent.
